Program Objectives
Youth unemployment in Egypt remains high at 89% (ILO) and disproportionately affects disadvantaged youth who lack access to opportunities to become more marketable.
The Youth Scholarship Program (YSP) seeks to increase employment opportunities for Cairo's orphans and other disadvantaged youth, ages 7 to 14, by providing scholarships to enable them to attend English as a Second Language (ESL) classes. Proficiency in this language can greatly improve the youth's position to compete in the labor market
