El Ketab - Part 3
This book is designed to help you move from an intermediate level of skill, with which you can understand and express familiar topics and daily life, to a more advanced one, with which you can read and discuss topics of general and professional interest, including many aspects of Arab culture.
The basic texts of this book come from printed rather than audiovisual media. A substantial amount of vocabulary is presented in each lesson. There are also more drills focused on vocabulary, and these precede the reading itself. While you will continue to work on listening, speaking and writing skills with these materials, reading skills and cultural knowledge constitute the central focus of this book.
You will notice that everything in this book is longer: the texts, the sentences, the questions, the charts, and the drills. This length reflects your progress in language proficiency and is designed to push you toward an advanced level of skill. Of course, these exercises will demand increased concentration and mental effort on your part; your reward for this extra effort will be increased fluency in Arabic.
