sabaah il-xeer ya-masr (part II ) offers learners of Arabic an easy way to understand, speak, and communicate in Egyptian Colloquial Arabic. It assumes having some Egyptian Colloquial background. It offers information through real situations needed for an effective interaction in Egyptian Colloquial Arabic. The book requires that learners have a good command of Arabic script.
What is unique about the book is that together with part one of the book - it focuses on real and basic situations from everyday life; situations that one may encounter while walking in the street, in the market, staying at a hotel, etc.
It includes situations on: entertaining, friends, asking about the weather, telling the time, congratulation, shopping, being in a restaurant, talking about future plans, etc.
Moreover, it includes:
First : The above-mentioned dialogues and situations.
Second : Grammar rules
Third : Vocabulary
Fourth : Drills
Thus, it combines between the practical side of learning a language , and the theoretical side as well.
The practical approach is addressed through the introduction of various everyday situation s, the list of vocabulary at the end of each lesson, in addition to the drills of each lesson that help students have more practice on every situation, personalize it, and speak more and subsequently have more confidence to interact with the Egyptian community outside the class.
The theoretical part deals with grammar rules and points, which in turn enhance the practical side, as it helps students form correct grammatical sentences through introducing and clarifying all speech items, how they occur in sentences, how a verb is conjugated, such things which pave the way before students not only to be understood by the Arabic-speaking communities, but also to interact effectively and successfully with them with a clear pronunciation and a normal speed in conversation.
